Cassius and Brutus: The High Ideal of Republican Nobility in Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare
This paper will discuss the high ideal of Roman Republicanism through the main characters Cassius and Brutus in William Shakespeare's Julius Caesar. While Caesar deems it necessary to contemplate becoming Emperor due to his victories in military feats, we can see how Cassius and Brutus act in Rome's best interest, as well as in the noblest tradition of saving the Senate by murdering Caesar.
