This paper analyzes the history and political, social, and economic situation in Mexico City, noting the problems facing this city because of population and air pollution and the growth of shanty towns, showing the poverty affecting this region today, also considering the way the city developed as it did, some of the forces at work, the distance between rich and poor, and the growth in crime and other urban problems.
