This paper is a sample lesson in geography. The continent that was chosen in order to develop a unit to teach an elementary class a geography lesson was the North American continent. The aim of this lesson is to teach the names of the countries and their capital cities. Further, this lesson will have a particular focus on the United States as it functions as part of the North
American continent so that the students will gain a better idea of the macrocosm of the continent of which the United States is a microcosm. This allows the student to develop perspectives of a larger nature and at their own ability to comprehend it.
