A chronological study of American economic history from 1800-2000 by major areas including agriculture, industrial development, money, banking, and transportation with emphasis on the role of business, labor, and government. This paper traces economic cycles in American history from maritime prosperity of the early 1800s through the present economic boom with emphasis on the areas of farming, industry, the establishment and regulation of banks, and transportation.
