This advanced literature paper examines the insanity of McMurphy in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and Antoinette in Wide Sargasso Sea. Both characters are driven mad by disappointment in society and those close to them. It is concluded that they represent Christ figure martyrs in their sacrifice of the mind and body. 4 pgs.
